Repair Cracks, Prevent Weeds

The innovative binding technology in our paving jointing sand creates a joint that constantly repairs small cracks. Rain swells the 100% raw, organic, natural ingredients in the joint filling sand to consistently repair microcracks. We cannot guarantee this product will fully eliminate weeds as foot and car traffic can bring weed seeds in and place them on top of Joint-It Fine which is not preventable. 

Important Note

Joint-It Fine is best applied on a newly laid driveway, where there has been no previous weed growth. If applying on an existing driveway, you will need to use a high-power pressure washer to clean out all of the joints to ensure there are no weeds. After this, spray all the joints with a weed-killer to ensure no weed plants are left. Then you can apply Joint-It Fine. Joint-It Fine is a preventative product, but it won’t stop weeds growing that have already planted in the joints before application.  

All outdoor surfaces require some maintenance when exposed to the changing weather conditions. We recommend cleaning your driveway/brick paving with Joint-It So Clean quarterly to keep it looking new. With our spray and go formula, Joint-It So Clean requires minimal effort for the best results.

Joint-It Fine can only be used where there is a permeable base. If you are unsure if your base is permeable, run a hose for several minutes on the top of the paving. If the water drains through the joints after about 5 minutes, then the base is permeable. If the water logs on the top, then the base is not permeable.

Due to the nature of brick/block paving and the small size of the bricks, their joints are prone to getting moss very quickly no matter what jointing product is in between the joints. We recommend applying Joint-It Algae Remover every three to four months to keep the area well-maintained. 

Failing to comply with this maintenance plan will lead to moss growing in the joints. If you leave it too long to apply an algae remover, the plant will likely have rooted deeply into your driveway gripping the jointing material. If this happens, we recommend power washing your driveway, applying a weed killer, and then reapplying Joint-It Fine approximately 10 days later. 

If you have been away from your property for a minimum of three months and return home to discover that moss has shown signs of starting to grow: We highly recommend as soon as possible applying hypochlorite on a damp day and leave it to work without any further intervention. This will remove all moss and other growths, but will not affect your bricks or jointing material. If you need to purchase hypochlorite, follow the manufacturer’s guidelines carefully.

Also, take note that we cannot guarantee that the Joint-It Fine will perform on sloped areas.
