After a lot of research on grout for my newly laid 30m2 porcelain slabs, I decided to go for Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout. Glad I did. Purchased the electric application gun which is a must for a large area and heat up the tubes in warm water as per instructions. The product applied easily and made for an amazing finish and end result. I don’t need to worry about redoing it or colour fading and has set rock hard with a nice smooth finish. I highly recommend this company and product and so glad I decided to go with it.

Used the tan epoxy for my bathroom tiles with a 1.5mm gap. Application time is similar to regular grout but i believe the finish is more durable and has better water resistant qualities. I had an issue with the applicator gun but this was quickly resolved and I received good advice from Gary.

I could not recommend the Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout enough! The great thing with this product is the fact you can start and stop when you want. I did the first 25 tubes until my back gave in. I used the flat spatula for the groove. And 5 hours later I scraped off, to reveal the perfect joint. It's so easy to use. And the fact I didn't have to seal the area first, only wax the joint before I started. And it sets like concrete. But looks fantastic.

I cannot say how pleased I am with this new product. It is so easy to apply and the finish is quite attractive. In short, this product works exactly as advertised and I feel we now have a durable joint compound that will allow us years of low-maintenance enjoyment of our patio. I have only positive things to say about the folks at Joint-It. They were with us every step of the way, constantly available for questions and advice to ensure we were successful.

Each unit/tube of Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout will cover up to approximately 2m². Coverage depends on the width of the joints and the size of the porcelain slab.

Please visit our Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout calculator to estimate the amount of grout you will need for your project.

If you have any leftover product within a tube, you can put the cap back on and use within 1 month on a different patio.

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout can be used on joints with a width of between 1mm and 10mm. The product is best suited for a 2mm to 5mm joint width.

Yes – Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is resistant to up to 7500 PSI water pressure where application guidelines have been followed correctly.

We recommend maintaining your patio with a suitable patio cleaner every two to three months, depending on how much shade the area receives.

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout comes with a Colourfast Warranty, subject to the warranty guidelines. If the grout appears discoloured, this is likely to be surface staining rather than a change to the colour of the grout itself.

If the patio has not been maintained for some time and the Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout appears to have changed colour, Joint-It Grout Haze Remover can be used to restore the grout to its original colour. Watch our video for guidance on how to use it.

In rare cases, Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout may turn white shortly after application. This can be caused by a reaction between the epoxy within the product and moisture carrying airborne contaminants, including PM10 pollution and carbon. If this occurs, it will happen within the first six hours after application.

There is no need for concern. After a few days, Joint-It Grout Haze Remover can be used to restore the grout. Watch our video for guidance on how to use it.

This product is available in three colours: Tan, Grey and Raven.

The colour on the box of Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout indicates the colour of the product inside.

Yes. We are currently working on additional colours for the Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout range, although these may take 1–2 years to reach the market.

Our existing Tan, Grey and Raven colours took four years to develop and thoroughly test. Each colour is colourfast and waterproof, while delivering the exceptional strength and performance the product was designed for.

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is a unique product for outdoor porcelain paving, with no directly comparable product currently available on the UK market. For that reason, we will only introduce new colours once we are completely satisfied that they meet the same performance standards as the existing range.

Each tub of Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax will cover approximately 40 – 50m2. Actual coverage will vary depending on the amount of wax applied over the joints.

In some cases the product may initially have a slightly glossy appearance, but this will tone down after a few weeks to a matte finish.

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout can be used only on a surface where the finishing scraper can be smoothly pulled across the top of the paving to scrape off the excess. It cannot be used on paving where the edge of the stone has a handcuff finish.

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is primarily designed for use with porcelain paving. The smooth surface of porcelain makes it easier to scrape away excess product during application.

Contractors have also reported successful results when using the product with certain types of natural stone, including sandstone and granite. When using this method, apply heavy-duty industrial masking tape to either side of the joint before applying the grout. Scrape away the excess product the following morning, then remove the masking tape.

If you intend to use Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout on natural stone, we recommend carrying out a small test area first.

This product can be used to:

Adhere paving slabs to a wall on a small area (as long as the area is dry).

BEFORE USE

We strongly recommend that you watch our application video before you start the foundations for your paving.

Ensure paving is clean and dry and that rain is not expected before you have completed Step 3 of the application.

Product should not be used below 5°C.

Always submerge the tubes in hot water for at least 30 minutes prior to application of Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout. This ensures that the product inside the tubes mix easily when coming out of the application gun. In addition, we strongly recommend using an electric application gun for an effortless application.

The product may change colour depending on air quality, especially in areas near the sea with high salt levels in the air. This discolouration may last for up to 24 months, but the product should return to its original colour; however, this occurrence is rare.

It’s important to note that the strength, longevity, and lifespan of the product outweigh concerns related to air quality and salt issues.

Product should not be used below 5°C or above 25°C.

Paving tiles need to be laid securely with no movement in the slabs.

HOW TO USE

Watch our step by step guide on how to apply Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout.

If you have any questions about the application or otherwise, please contact us at info@jointit.com

To apply the Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax, use the sponge provided to rub the wax in a quick, circular motion. This is to ensure that the wax is loosened and almost liquid-like, so that there are no lumps of wax that may go down into the joints, preventing the Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout from bonding properly over time.

When applying the wax with the sponge provided along the top of the paving either side of the joint, apply the wax lightly and with not too much pressure on the sponge. By applying too much pressure on the sponge, it may disintegrate the sponge. If you feel the sponge has disintegrated before you have finished the tub of wax, any type of a sponge of a similar grade will perform the same way.

We recommend applying Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax sparingly along the top edge of the tile beside the joint, ensuring that no wax seeps into the joint. If wax gets into the joint and onto the sides of the tile, it can prevent Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout from bonding properly over time.

A number of finishing tools have been specifically designed to leave an even, smooth finish on the joints.  The flat bar finishing tool is best used for a smooth flush finish on joints that are between 3-5mm wide.

For the best finish, we recommend using the flat bar finishing tool.

If the product remains in the mixing nozzle for more than 20 minutes without being used, the material inside the nozzle may begin to harden. In this case, the nozzle will need to be replaced before continuing. Each tube of Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is supplied with a mixing nozzle.

  • The Electric Application Gun is intended for professional patio jobs. For touch-up jobs or testing, we recommend using the Manual Application Gun.
  • The Electric Application Gun has six settings. We recommend using lower settings when getting familiar with using the Electric Application Gun, and you can increase the speed at your discretion.
  • It is okay to use the Electric Application Gun without cutting the tip off the nozzle when using Settings 1-3. Just make sure to use it on a low setting, otherwise it will put additional pressure on the tubes.
  • If you would like to use a faster setting, you will need to cut the end of the nozzle to create a larger gap. This is to prevent pressure building up in the tubes.
  • If you would like to adjust the settings from three to six, whereby the product will come out faster, we recommend that you also cut a little bit off the top of the nozzle to allow more product to come out.  Failing to cut the nozzle with the gun running at full capacity will put the wall of the tubes under increased pressure.
  • The electric application gun comes with two rechargeable batteries. We recommend charging both batteries prior to use.
  • Make sure the tubes are positioned correctly in the Electric Application Gun before use. Watch this Tips & Advice video where we demonstrate how to position the tubes correctly in the Electric Application Gun.

The Manual Application Gun is suitable for very small areas (up to 1m²) or touch-ups, while we recommend the Electric Application Gun for larger applications and full patio jobs.

WHEN NOT TO USE

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is only for paving joints between 1-10mm wide and at least 10mm deep. The product works best with a 2mm to 5mm joint width.

The paving must be clean and dry before application and there should be no rain expected for the initial part of the application.

If it starts to rain after you have run the finishing tool along the joints (step 3), this is no problem and will not affect product performance.

STORAGE

If you have product left in the tube, remove and dispose of the mixing nozzle, re-cap the tube and store it safely until you are ready to use it again.

Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout must be stored in original packaging in an ambient, dry area. Storing incorrectly may affect the characteristics of the product.

The shelf life of Joint-It Porcelain Epoxy Grout is 7 years, provided it is stored correctly in a cool environment.

The Joint-It Anti Bonding Wax has an indefinite shelf life, dependent on storage in a cool environment.
